These are just a few of the people affected by regular chiropractic care! Although some of them are athletes and performers of some kind, that does not make them any different from you. What do you have in common with them? You have a spine. You are breathing. You have innate intelligence. And you, like them, would function better each day without interference in your body!
I am a mother of 3 - my first two girls are only 17 months apart and I had very uneventful pregnancies with them. I was able to work full time as a nurse in the ER - three 12 hour shifts a week, never had a chance to sit, eat or go to the bathroom while I was working! And yet, I honestly had NO problems carrying them. I was able to deliver my first 2 naturally - again, no problems whatsoever. THEN, I started my 3rd pregnancy and noticed a HUGE difference with the entire pregnancy. It was at 16 weeks into the pregnancy that I really started to notice my pelvic pain. It gradually worsened to the point where I could hardly walk, let alone pick up either of my 2 toddlers. I needed help. I talked to my OB, (who I adore, trust and respect), and her response was "it's typical to have pelvic discomfort with pregnancy". Well, this was NOT discomfort - it was disabling. I wasn't able to function as a mom or even a human being on a daily basis. I decided to check out Lotus of Life - the location, business hours and holistic healing was all right up my ally. I have always been a bit skeptical when it comes to chiropractic care - I was just uninformed. After my first consultation, I immediately knew that Jamie and Liliana would do their best to help me. I'll be honest - I didn't really notice a huge difference with the first few adjustments. A couple weeks later, I was gardening, playing with my girls, and actually able to lift my 2nd child in and out of her crib without wincing! There is NO DOUBT in my mind that the chiropractic care I received helped me endure my 3rd pregnancy and deliver my 3rd daughter naturally. Each pregnancy and delivery is different, and I know that the chiropractic care helped my body to "heal" itself and prepare my body for natural delivery. As a mother of 3 daughters under the age of 4, I need to be active, I need energy, but most of all I need to take care of myself so that I can take
care of them. Lotus of Life was able to help me through my 3rd pregnancy, and hopefully with the next someday!
Thank you SO much!
Holly
"I first visited a chiropractor when I was 7 or 8 years old because I had back problems, so I have a history of malcontent with my spine. Later in life, I became a massage therapist. I practiced full time for three years, and I didn't take care of myself at all. I got a massage for about every 100 that I gave. Very unbalanced. I quit massage when I became pregnant with my first child, and the pregnancy only compounded the discomfort I was already experiencing.
Around 8 months into my pregnancy, I started to get terrible muscle spasms in my back that would last hours on end and were so uncomfortable that I would vomit. I was able to find relief sometimes from a chiropractor. I say sometimes because my chiropractor's adjustments didn't always help. I would get one of these spasms twice a week for over a year. I tried everything I could think of myself to prevent them, and I ended up limiting myself from almost all activity. I stopped holding my son, doing housework, lifting anything, sitting or standing for any length of time, etc. Anytime something triggered a spasm, it was the last time I did that activity. I was a 26 year old invalid. It was terrible. I was a new mom and a newlywed, and I wasn't able to be the outgoing active person that my husband married and I knew myself to be.
When we moved to Georgia, my husband and I decided that enough was enough, and we had to actively improve my health. I called Lotus of Life one morning because I had seen their office space across from the high school where my husband worked. I made an appointment, and I really appreciated their energy when I met Jaime and Liliana in the office. I was impressed by their knowledge of the body as a massage therapist who has had to educate medical students about their own bodies in the past (I'm not kidding!).
Shortly after starting treatment at Lotus of Life, I became pregnant with my second kiddo. I received chiropractic care regularly throughout the pregnancy, and I am amazed at the results. I have had only one spasm since I started working with Drs. Jaime and Liliana. When I had that spasm, I immediately sought care, and I left the office 20 minutes later pain free. My pregnancy went so well that I remember feeling achy in my low back when I was two weeks from delivery. I remember thinking, "Hmm. That's odd. My back doesn't usually hurt there." Then I told myself, "You idiot! You're 9 months pregnant, and you think a low back ache is curious?!"
I also had a fantastic homebirth with a shockingly short recovery time. Dr. Liliana attended my birth and adjusted me through out and after my labor. She even stopped by the day after to adjust me. I can't stress how important it is to continue chiropractic care after the baby is born. Your body obviously goes through major changes structurally with balance and organ placement, but it is a gradual process that you learn to adapt to slowly. After you have the baby, everything tries to go back to its original place in record speed, and sometimes your body is changed permanently. My son is two weeks old now, and I feel absolutely fantastic, like I was never even pregnant. On a scale of 1 to 10, I feel like an 11. I know for certain that I feel so good because of the chiropractic care I received from Lotus of Life. -

"Just wanted to thank y'all for being so available for Madeleine. She walked out of the emergency room last night feeling only more trepidation about not competing this weekend. She left Lotus, however, mentally and physically much improved, not to mention empowerment engendered by your imparted understanding of what was wrong and what she could do to help herself." - Scott
Dear Jamie and Liliana,
Thank you for helping me to live a better life. When I came to you – a 65 year old grandmother with scoliosis, osteopenia, and constant back pain – you said that Lotus could help me. I was hesitant to make this commitment, but my sons, Tracy and Scott, encouraged me to go for it, so I did.
Now 4 months later, I have reduced the amount of medication that I take for back pain by 75%. I have learned to listen to my body and adjust my posture and breathing. My back pain has lessened by at least 50%. And as an added bonus, my sinus allergies were the best ever this spring because of your adjustments.
You are the best!

The following is a testimonial from a fellow participant of Lotus of Life Chiropractic, Jennifer Greenquist. Jennifer is not the only parent that has had such an experience.
"Like all parents, when my son Zach was born we wanted the best for him. We wanted to do everything we could to make sure he was as healthy and intelligent as he could be. This included breastfeeding until he was 11 months and getting him the recommended vaccinations. When he was five or six months old he got an ear infection and his pediatrician prescribed antibiotics. The first round didn't work, so we tried another and then another. He basically had an ear infection for 12 weeks. My husband's brother was in chiropractic school, so we finally took Zach to their clinic for regular adjustments and a course of acidophilus and bifidus. This cleared his ear infection within a week. My son hasn't had any health issues since, and he's now 9 years old.
While my brother-in-law was in chiropractic school, we studied the research (or lack thereof) on the effectiveness of vaccinations. We were uncomfortable with the idea of injecting viruses into the undeveloped immune systems of our children, especially since immune system diseases run in my family. When my daughter Maya was born, we decided not to have her vaccinated. She was breastfed for 13 months, and hasn't had any ear infections or illnesses other than colds/flu and she's now 5. Even when she gets a cold or the flu, it doesn't seem to take as long for her to recover as it does for Zach. We have never regretted our decision and feel that she has a stronger, healthier immune system as a result."
Jennifer and both her children have been getting regular chiropractic care since that first episode with Zach. Now, Zach and Maya both ask to get adjusted when they aren't feeling their best. Maya's enthusiasm is best shared in her comment to her mother in a recent visit: "No, Mom, I don't WANT to be a chiropractor, I'm GOING to be a chiropractor!"
When I was about six months pregnant, I started having terrible pain in my right buttock, hip, and leg. I'm not sure what caused it, but the pain made walking excruciating. It felt like there the joints in my hip were grinding together with every step. Since I am a teacher, this was a big problem. I was eventually forced to use a cane to keep the weight off my right side. Each day I would come home sobbing from the pain. When I contacted my regular healthcare provider, she said that this was very common pain, and that there wasn't much I could do about it. It was joust a symptom of pregnancy.
Fortunately, I refused to accept her answer. I did some research online and found that many pregnant women found relief from chiropractors. I looked for chiropractors that specifically had family practices. I found the Lotus of Life website. When I first spoke with Jamie on the phone, I almost cried with relief when they said they could see me that afternoon. I was a bit skeptical about how much they could help me, but I didn't know what else to try.
Jamie spent a long time evaluating me. She was so confident they could help me, that I started to think it might work. It also helped that she had just had a baby. It made me feel less fearful about being adjusted while pregnant. After about a week of adjustments, I was already feeling a lot better. After another week, I was completely off the cane (since donated to Goodwill) and having no pain in my hip, buttock, or leg. I couldn't even remember what the pain felt like any more.
I am so grateful to Liliana and Jamie for their care. Not only did they take away my pain, but they are so kind and caring, that I look forward to seeing them at my appointments. I'll never forget when I told Liliana that my healthcare provider told me that my pain "was common" and she replied, "Just because something is common, doesn't mean it's normal."

"Before I started seeing Drs. Liliana and Jamie in early 2007 (at the age of 60), I had suffered with morning back pain for many years and had a herniated disk in my lower back. I also had moderately severe scoliosis, my left hip and knee joints were hurting and my right hand would ache on and off. Within a few sessions of seeing them I was feeling noticeably better, especially my back. Unfortunately I had a kayaking accident in July 2007 where my left knee hit a rock and that affected my lower back again. Because I was already visiting Lotus of Life on a regular basis, the doctors were able to nip this injury in the bud and after a few visits I was back to my previous level of freedom from pain. Due to my longstanding back issues, I still see Drs. Jamie and Liliana on an ongoing basis but visiting them in their cheerful, peaceful office is a treat! - a participant from Lotus of Life"

"My personal story is that I enrolled in a care plan at Lotus of Life because dull but chronic and deeply rooted lower back pain was slowing my advancement in my martial arts studies. I continued care because over the course of several months I gained greater and greater understanding into the message and the history of this pain I had settled for accepting for so many years, the connection between my mental and emotional thought patterns and the patterns of pain or tension expressing themselves throughout my body. I remain and will remain under care at Lotus of Life because BGI chiropractic adjustments, utilizing basic breath, awareness, and touch, have assisted in truly convincing me of the wondrous and infinite potential of our bodies and our selves to evolve into wiser, healthier, more compassionate, and happier beings than we currently are. - Lauren"
"Motion. That is the term that I think best describes my life. I am a 41 year old Pro Masters level inline skater and I also am a member of the Aaron's/L5Flyers cycling team. I am also a current Tai Chi Chuan student of Grandmaster Dr. Tingsten Xu. What brought me to Lotus of Life Chiropractic Clinic?
In the last 5 years I had noticed a decline in athletic performance along with chronic back pain that I had attributed to aging. The formula in racing is that hard training produces good results. Well, for the last several years, hard training brought chronic fatigue and dwindling results.
One day a few months ago I sneezed, and fell to my knees; I thought I had lost all my leg strength. I felt my athletic career was over, that my body was telling me "enough." I made a commitment right there to go to a doctor and find out what was wrong. I made a call for a chiropractic appointment, hoping for answers, hoping for help, but expecting the worse.
WOW. After 1 month of intensive treatment I can do a back bend with no pain. I have recovered my strength and I honestly feel 10 years younger. I have restarted cycling and inline training as hard as ever. I now believe again, like I used to, that the sky is the limit.
Thanks Lotus of Life,
I have hope again.

"Thank you so much Lotus of Life for providing me the opportunity to make some really important and really profound changes! You couldn't have come at the right time! Or I couldn't have come at the right time. Or is it both? Oh well.
I knew already that body work (or a healing similar to this) was going to be a great part of my healing one day. I suffered from post traumatic stress disorder as a result of a survivor of childhood abuse and adult rape. I had already been healing under the care of a counselor and a recommended guided imagery program. I was told that for those who have suffered traumatic events in their past that body work that helps to release stored up traumas in the body really ties together any healing done on cognitive or emotional levels.
Right before I came to chiropractic, I would have to describe myself as being crunched up, clogged, and stuck. And maroon. It was like I was a river all dammed up and then the dam broke and things could flow again. Because of that, all this potential energy was freed for action and change.
Chiropractic didn't just help my back and neck, (well, it did alleviate my back and neck pain) but gave me this sense of light and flow. Overall the care helped me start to be present to life again instead of feeling snowed under and all with life piled on top of me and no way to make sense of it all.
I also got a chance to read some really good books that gave me some food for thought. And I tell you it was just what I needed at the time. But that's how it works doesn't it? That something comes exactly when it's needed and when the student is ready for it.
Some really permanent, positive changes have happened with me. I stay present and in the moment a little better and inhabit my body a little better. I don't dissociate nearly as much; I'm more centered and grounded. When I do dissociate, I know that I am and know what to do about it, whereas before, I didn't even know what the hell was going on, let alone what to do about it. I also seem better able to maintain balance in not so balanced times, i.e. the chaos that was last semester. I remember to breathe and drink water. In my spirit, I've returned to my normal playful, mischievous, free-spirited, creative self.
I also got this opportunity to see two people my age doing what they loved. That was inspiring because it helped me to solidify my creative/career/life dream. I think before my dream dwelt more in the nebulous regions of my non-verbal self—I had an idea and the feel of it, but not the words or the practical workings and all. So a lot of work was done in just defining my life's goals and moving towards the next steps to making it happen and all.
Oh, and one cool miracle was not having to drive all the way to Powers Ferry Rd. during a heavy course load for chiropractic care or pay $1,574.00 for a month of care. Yeah, a month. You guys are 10 minutes away from my apartment. I got to pay a student price and get care right away so I wouldn't die rather than having to save up $1, 574.00 before I got care provided that I didn't die first. I was like, really, is this happening? And it did and it is. thanks!"
Testimonial for Eva Victoria
My little girl was born at home 3 ½ weeks past her due date. It was a safe, all natural 10 hour labor with no complications. After 1 hour of having Eva, I checked her spine to see if she needed to be adjusted. Sure enough, I ended up adjusting 4 different things in her new, little spine. Please keep in mind that the only "trauma" that she had ever had at this point was being born! She didn't have time for car accidents, sports injuries, work stress, or anything that we commonly experience and store as adults.
Within the first week of Eva being born, I noticed that she had colic/sensory overload like symptoms between 6-8pm everyday. I researched a little and read in a pediatric magazine that cranial bones (the head bones) being pressed together from birth are often the cause of many different symptoms with children. This is also common with vacuum extraction and forceps use during birth.
So, Liliana and I made sure that we checked and adjusted her cranial bones. After the 1st adjustment, she never had those symptoms again! What a relief for a 1st time mom! Please keep in mind that we continued to check and adjust her cranial bones and still do as needed on a regular basis. This is the primary reason that she has never experienced colic/sensory overload symptoms again. Not only did we remove the interference through the first adjustment, but we maintained those bones in their proper place and eventually taught her body how to not create the same patterns of tension that originally caused her colic/sensory overload symptoms.
Throughout the 20 months that Eva has been adjusted, she has been the model child for health. The only temperatures that she has gotten were teething related. I adjusted her as soon as possible and within 24 hours, she was like new. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had to stay up a single night with a crying baby as a result of having colic, teething, illness, or anything of the sort. My mother even had pink eye when Eva was one month old. I actually wanted my mom to hold and play with Eva. I knew that it would only build Eva's own natural immunity. I made sure to adjust her, put breast milk in her eyes as a natural antibiotic, and guess what? She never got pink eye! It isn't because she wasn't around it; it wasn't because I gave her an antibiotic (Eva has never had ANY medication of any kind ever in her life); it was because her body was working the way it is capable.
She is a growing girl who falls down from time to time as she learns how to walk, run, and play. I feel so blessed that I am able to be her doctor 24-7. I understand most moms are not as lucky as myself and Eva. However, you still can give your child the gift of an interference free nervous system. This allows for the most natural form of healthcare in the world, one where the healing comes from within each individual's body! The body is fully capable of growing, healing, repairing, and functioning at 100% potential, which is the purpose of chiropractic! And that is the gift that I give to my little Eva!
